The festival is organised by the volunteer association homonymous to the festival, Orvieto Cinema Fest ODV. The association is managed by four young women, and is made up by young professionals from Orvieto and not, who enthusiastically embraced the festival’s mission and set out to support it with their peculiar skills and expertise.

Besides its main project, the association also endeavours to establish joint activities with organisations outside the local landscape, with the aim of promoting film culture year-round, with a special focus on short films. The festival takes place in the last week of September, within the exquisite frame of the Mancinelli Theatre.

Over the years have collaborated professionals in the field such as the director of photography Daniele Ciprì, the film critic Boris Sollazzo, directors Adriano Valerio and Stefano Cipani, Alice Rohrwacher, Francesca Mazzoleni and Beatrice Baldacci.

Our event, in its offer and in its appointments, reflects the values and spirit that animates the young team. An attention to emerging directors voices, national and international, able to disrupt the gender balance that has dominated the audiovisual sector for a long time.

Behind this decision is not the idea of a female necessarily to be rewarded as such, but the awareness that if Cinema is a language that moves beyond genres, society does not do the same. We would like to break down the barriers to the entry of the supply chain, going beyond the clichés of empowerment or victimization and creating fair conditions for the expression of talent. For this reason, Orvieto Cinema Fest adheres to the ethical charter of WIFTM Italia.

The Charter of Ethical Behaviour for the Audiovisual Sector is the prevention tool created and adopted by WIFTM Italy, but available to all and all against sexual harassment, intimidation and all forms of discrimination, gender-based violence and body shaming at work and study, for the protection of the dignity of the person, workers and workers, students and students in the audiovisual sector”.
